Terminal Operations
Under the HIL network contract signed with Terminali Italia, Interporto Bologna is responsible for all operational activities within the terminals under its jurisdiction, including:
- Handling operations
- Storage services
- Management of dangerous goods (ADR)
- UTI inspection
- Data entry into SAP systems
- UTI maintenance and repair
- Agency services, including train booking, train release and clearance, administrative and claims management, train check‑in and check‑out, and consignment note transmission
Railway Shunting Operations
Under the HIL agreement, Interporto Bologna is also responsible for the operational handling of railway wagons throughout the freight village and its connecting tracks, including:
- Coupling and uncoupling of locomotives
- Removal and application of tail signals
- Sorting and addition of adjacent wagons
- Sorting of adjacent wagons that cannot be shunted
- Guiding of the train locomotive
- Splitting and reassembling specific train sections
- Transfer of wagons between tracks
- Towing of train locomotives
Additional Terminal Services
In addition to standard terminal services, the following additional services are available upon customer request:
- Loading and unloading of goods for conventional traffic
- Shuttle transport services
- Forklift operations
- Container cleaning
- Securing and lashing of cargo
- General ancillary services
