In May 2021 the increase in traffic flows recorded at the Bologna Freight Village continued, particularly in terms of rail traffic.
In fact, while the number of lorries increased by around 30% (compared to the same period last year), the number of trains and the number of wagons increased by around 68%.
As last month, this trend is expected considering that in 2020 the health emergency was in full swing and also at the freight village, in May 2020 compared to 2019, there was a decrease of 20% in trucks, 5% in trains and 17% in wagons.
This positive dynamic is also confirmed at the economic level where, compared to April 2021, all traffic sectors show growth.
The cumulative figure for the period January-May 2021 (compared to January-May 2020) is therefore very positive in all traffic sectors, with values showing an increase of around 21% in road traffic and more than 53% in trains and 45% in wagons.
