The effects of the scenario determined by the Coronavirus emergency can also be seen at the Bologna Freight Village.
In the truck sector, in particular, as of 16 March there was a clear drop in activity.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of trucks entering and leaving the Bologna Freight Village decreased by 10% in March 2020.
The railway sector, on the other hand, shows a 3% increase in the number of trains compared to March 2019.
These trains are, however, composed of a lower number of railway wagons, which in fact decreased by 5% compared to last year.
On the other hand, the economic dynamic offers a more optimistic scenario with regard to the length of trains. The number of wagons is up by 5% compared to last month. The truck sector, on the other hand, is still suffering (-10.9% compared to February).
