The situation in the Bologna Freight Village sees a slight but constant improvement in all activities of the platform.
As a matter of fact, the weekly trend of a slow recovery in the activities of those established companies authorized to maintain operations continues and, in view of the reopening of manufacturing activities, other operators are also preparing for the end of the lockdown.
However, all construction sites are still closed, with the exception of the cycle path, a public utility work that will join the Funo Centergross train station with the freigh village and will allow the use of bicycles in safety for those who use them to reach the workplace.
As far as the meal points within the area are concerned, they are still closed but continue with home delivery and are being organised for take-away service.
In addition to the activities that have never stopped (the rail terminals, the railway wagon repair shop, the facility management, the petrol station and condominium services) Interporto Bologna SpA does not stop and continues to work on the departure of the railway fast corridor Bologna Interporto - Port of La Spezia and the expansion of the petrol stations's offer with the addition of LNG pumps.
Traffic data testify to the positive trend of the logistics platform.
In both traffic sectors (road and rail) there are the same positive signs. In the week from 20 to 26 April, compared to the previous week, there was a 34% increase in road traffic (+20% compared to the week from 06 to 12 April). Same dynamics for cars with a growth of 33% for the week just passed compared to the previous week. A similar situation emerges at rail level. Crane pulls carried out at interport railway terminals in the past week show an increase of 35% compared to the same days in the previous period.
The data should be read taking into account that in the period analyzed are included the Easter holidays, but we like to think that they are still the mirror of a positive dynamic characterized by the exit from this emergency phase and the consequent recovery of all transport and logistics activities and related services within the Bologna infrastructure.
