For some years now, on the issue of people's mobility, especially for home-work journeys, the Interporto company has been working to promote better accessibility to the infrastructure and more public services available to workers. Therefore, it has taken an active part in the working table set up by the Metropolitan City in which, in addition to Interporto, SRM Reti e Mobilità and T-per are present, with which it is working with the common goal of finding concrete and lasting solutions to improve the quality and frequency of public transport services.
Pursuing this aim, after the first study carried out in 2015 and the subsequent update in 2021, the Interporto company decided this year to carry out a new survey based on a basic need: to know the characteristics of people's home-work travel patterns in order to be able to formulate proposals, including innovative ones, in the organisation of travel, such as the introduction of new transport services.
This year, data collection is even more important because it also evaluates the use of the new Interporto gateway to the north, which will be opened by the summer.
The coming months will be crucial and Interporto Bologna's commitment will continue to ensure that public transport services within the infrastructure are further enhanced. To do this, it is necessary to have as complete a picture as possible of the travel habits of all workers, which can be outlined through a simple anonymous questionnaire to which all workers are asked to respond by providing certain essential information such as
- Time of entry and exit from the workplace;
- Means of transport used to reach the workplace and travel times;
- Propensity to change to a more sustainable solution;
- Residence or domicile and distance from the workplace.
