2021 promises to be a positive year from the point of view of intermodal freight transport generated at Interporto Bologna, a hub that is increasingly assuming an important role at national and international level.
The number of trains has increased by 38.2% compared to a year ago, while the number of wagons is 25.5% higher.
This positive dynamic at rail level has been present since June 2020 and shows how freight transport has been one of the most stable sectors, even in the midst of the health crisis.
The growth in the rail sector is also recorded at a conjunctural level, i.e. compared to December 2020, where there was a 4.5% increase in trains and a 5.1% increase in wagons.
Less significant this month is the dynamic of the truck sector, which recorded a 7% drop in the number of trucks transited compared to January 2020.
