Since the beginning of 2019, the railway traffic of Interporto Bologna confirmed the new identity of the Bologna hub as a provider of railway services that qualify its function as a gateway to support intermodal long-distance transport.
The cumulated period January-April is, in fact, growing in all traffic sectors but especially in the rail sector. Compared to the same period last year, in the four-month period there were 18% more trains and 32% more railway wagons.
In April 2019 alone, this trend continues to be very marked.
In fact, compared to April 2018, there is an increase of 28% in the number of trains and 40% in the number of wagons.
At the economic level, the Easter holidays and the bridges of the month, have led to a slowdown in activities. There was therefore a slight decrease of around 10%.
