The rail network of Bologna Freight Village is enriched by a new direct international rail link to the Rotterdam Botlek terminal operated by GTS.
The train will operate on an open access basis, giving the possibility to load both door2door and terminal2terminal shipments with 45'HC containers and it will also be possible to transport P400 semi-trailers, waste and ADR goods.
The train frequency will increase already in March with the addition of two further pairs of trains per week, rising to seven in early June.
From Rotterdam Botlek it will be possible to embark ITUs to the UK and Ireland and from Bologna it will be possible to reach Livorno, La Spezia, Nola, Marcianise, Catania, Bari, and from there Greece to Turkey.
