On November 8th 2014 it took place the start cerimony of the construction of the Logistics Platform of the Port of Trieste, with the symbolic laying of the foundation stone.
This project consists of the construction of a new port terminal of approximately 121,700 square meters and the construction will last about 852 days from the final delivery of the work.
The value of the project is euro 132.4 million of which 70 million allocated by the Trieste Port Authority, 32 million by CIPE and 30 million paid by the private entity which holds the concession, a temporary enterprises group composed by Interporto Bologna S.p.A., ICOP S.p.A., Francesco Parisi Casa di Spedizioni S.p.A. and Cosmo Ambiente S.r.l..
It is expected a prevalent use of intermodal transport, which is perfectly in line with the EU vision to consider the port infrastructures in a perspective of corridor.
This project is seen as an important intervention for the expansion of the port of Trieste and it will certainly have a positive outcome in terms of employment.
